In partnership with United Indians of All Tribes Foundation, Green Seattle Partnership, and Seattle Neighborhoods; Na'ah Illahee Fund is kicking off a Community Forest Restoration Planting Parties with "Forest Week at Daybreak Star Cultural Center" Friday, November 17th (Youth Day!) 9 AM - 3 PM. This is part of the vision to create a Food and Teaching Forest so Indigenous communities living in Seattle can continue learning and harvesting traditional foods and medicines. Na'ah Illahee Fund's Youth Trails and Land Restoration Cohort have been working hard this past summer to prepare the land to receive 3,500 plants and medicines to be planted from now through Spring 2024.
Na'ah Illahee Fund needs community to sign up and register to help welcome and plant these sacred medicines and foods in a good way. They are asking folks to come prepared: warm clothes, water bottles, and snacks, and to bring their best selves to work. Tools will be provided, but community folks are welcome to bring their own if they have any.
Register today for Friday, November 17th (Youth Day!) 9 AM - 3 PM
If you'd like to plan and join at a later date, here are their future planting dates!
